It's a new year and my girlfriend and I are going to invest in some Axies on Axie Infinity, play the game, and perhaps find someone in the Philippines who wants to play the game and split the income (I think we can earn Small Love Potion and sell them monthly for Fiat). We're doing the initial setup and investing in the Axies. Here's our step by step process on how we bought the first three: 1. Add the Ronin Wallet extension for Google Chrome (I manually saved the password and also the secret phrase manually in lastpass, also took a pic on my phone of the secret code and saved to favorites). 2. Get your Ethereum into your Ronin wallet from your Meta Mask Wallet (I bought on Coinbase, sent to Metamask, and now am going to bridge.roninchain.com. I had previously bought Ethereum on Coinbase that I sent to my Metamask to invest in some NFTs on OpenSea. There was some leftover. But, before sending it, I had to look at the prices of axies, since I know gas is expensive. We're not deep into Axie (yet) so we are just going to buy cheap ones to start, with no breed count. I also watched a YouTube video that said you might want a Beast Axie with a horn or something. I had ETH in my Metamask that was just about 0.0978, and after gas, it became 0.0728 WETH (see two screenshots below. I watched gas go from ~$72-$114, and yes it's expensive, especially when moving small amounts like this). Okay, now is it time to go shopping? 3. Buy your first Axie. So, with the WETH now I believe transactions won't be so expensive otherwise the gas would chew through everything before I even finish this blog post. But, it was very straightforward, I went and found the first Beast Axie that had a breed count of 0. It's cheap, when I checked a few months ago the ETH equivalent in USD of these guys were all $97+. Today, 0.018 WETH was spent to buy this guy. Confirm! But, then what happened?! I clicked close and tried to buy it again quickly and it was confirmed and after a few seconds it was showing as my first Axie under 'Inventory' on My Account. After you purchase the first, it's a breeze to purchase the others. If you need help on a screen share with someone helping you, check out this gig on Fiverr.
